The Botanical Gardens of Rostov State University is an Associate Member of the International and Eurasian Association of Botanical Gardens and a member of the Council of Botanical Gardens of Russia, the Nothern Caucasus, and the International Board of Botanical Gardens for Environmental Protection.

There are annual exchanges of scientific results, seeds and samplings with 220 botanical institutions from 37 foreign countries, and with 72 botanical gardens of the CIS.

Materials and practical recommen-dations on the methods of growing exotic plants in dry conditions of the steppe area are also available.

Main areas of research:

Introduction and acclimatization of plants; preservation and maintanence of vegetation in the steppe area; problems of ecology and athropogenic dynamics in biological systems.

Proposed areas of research for sponsors’ financial support and joint projects :

Protection, reproduction and enrichment of flora ( natural and cultivated) of the Northern Caucasus region; optimization of ecological surroundings in the steppe area .
