THE A.B.KOGAN RESEARCH INSTITUTE FOR NEUROCYBERNETICS

Founded in 1971.

194/1 Stachky Ave., Rostov-on-Don, Russia 344090

The Institute was founded in 1971 on the basis of the Biophysics Laboratory and bears the name of its founder, a prominent Russian neurophysiologist Professor Boris A. Kogan. The Institute is the only research centre of this kind in Russia.

Over 20 staff members with Doctoral degrees and 90 with Cand.S. degrees have been trained here. 11 All-Union and International conferences on the problems of neurocybernetics have been organized here. The staff has contacts with scholars from various countries and participates in several international projects.

The Department of Biophysics and Biocybernetics was established here with the support of the Physics Faculty of Rostov State University. The Institute provides training for Doctoral degrees in three specializations: biophysics, human and animal physiology, application of mathematical methods and computers in research.
