THE FACULTY OF GEOLOGY AND GEOGRAPHY offers its undergraduates four different professions: geology (geological measurements and prospecting), geography, hydro and engineering geology and nature control. There are 8 departments in the faculty where 21 Doctors and 45 Candidates of Science work:Mineralogy and Petrography, Mineral Deposits, General Geology, Ecology and Applied Geochemistry, Hydro and Engineering Geology, Physical Geography, Economic and Social Geography, and General Geography, Local History and Tourism departments. Faculty graduates work in specialized, production, operational, designing and prospecting firms as well as in researh institutions, schools, colleges and tourist agencies. THE FACULTY OF MECHANICS AND MATHEMATICS is the oldest and the largest in the university. It trains students of three professions: Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Mechanics. The staff includes one Academician, 22 Doctors of Science and more than 110 Candidates of Science. Researchers of the Research Institute of Mechanics and Applied Mathe matics are also engaged in teaching. The faculty comprises 11 departments: Mathematical Analysis, Algebra and Discrete Mathematics, Geometry, Differential and Integral Equations, Functions Theory and Functional Analysis, Computing Mathematics and Mathematical Physics, Informatics and Calculation Experiment, Applied Mathematics and Programming, Operations Research, Elasticity Theory and Hydroaerodynamics. THE FACULTY OF HYSTORY consists of 7 departments: Ressian History of Feodalism and Special History Disciplines, 19th and 20th Century Russian History, History of Russian Social Movement and Political Parties, Ancient, Classical and Medieval History, and History of New and Modern Times. Students are offered training for several professions: historians and politiсаl scientists, regional historians, archaeologists, school, junior college, college or university teachers. The faculty staff includes 9 Doctors and 34 Candidates of Science.
