All the most important aspects of jurisprudence are studied in the FACULTY OF LAW: Criminalistics, State Studies, Civil Law, and Economic Law. The faculty was one of the first at Rostov State University to introduce tuition on the contract basis for both full-time and correspondence students. The faculty consists of 8 departments: State and International Law, Criminal Law and Criminology, Criminal Trial and Criminalistics, Municipal Law and Government, Theory and History of State and Law, Civil Law and Trial, Economic Law and Science Law. There are 3 Doctors of Science and more than 50 Candidates of Science at the faculty.
At the FACULTY OF ECONOMICS specialists in economic theory and economic cybernetics are trained. A new speciality has been offered recently - Economics and Production Management. The faculty consists of 6 departments: Market Theory, Theories of Economics, Economic Cybernetics, and Economics and Management. The faculty constantly and closely cooperates with the North Caucasian Scientific Research Institute of Economic and Social Problems and invites researchers of this institution to give lectures and seminars.
There are 5 different schools in the FACULTY OF PHILOSOPHY: Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology, Culture Science, and Sociognomics (Social Work). The faculty scholars work at 10 departments: Sociology, Social and Individual Psychology, Industrial and Social Psychology, Psychophysiology, Ergonomics and Psychology of Different Age Groups, Culture, Ethics and Aesthetics, Philosophy of Religion, Dialectics and Methodology, History of Philosophy, Philosophy of History and Political Science. Graduates of the Faculty of Philosophy are usually à employed in education, management, research institutions and laboratories, in social and humanitarian services, family consulting centres, etc. The staff includes 12 Doctors of Science and 30 Candidates of Science.
THE FACULTY OF PHILOLOGY AND JOURNALISM offers its students three schools; Russian Philology, Romance and Germanic Philology, and Journalism. There are 9 departments within the faculty: Russian Language, General and Comparative Linguistics, Classical Russian Literature, 20th Century Russian Literature, Theory and History of World Literature, Stylistlcs and Editorial Work, Theory of Journalism, History of Journalism and Romance and Germanic Philology. 13 Doctors and 37 Candidates of Science are engaged in teaching and research, Faculty graduates teach at schools and other kinds of educational establishments and work in various mass media editorial offices, advertizing agencies and also in firms, banks, and institutions as translators, etc.
